Home for the Holidays

This year marked out very first Christmas in our new house and our first attempt to play with our old decor in our new home. It’s been two years since we’ve seen any of our Christmas decorations because we had them in storage last year while we were waiting for our forever home. So needless to say I feel that our taste has changed a bit since then and we wanted to add a few new pieces into our holiday decorations. I decided to keep Charlotte’s room and the playroom more colorful and fun while keeping most of our decor on the main level to whites, blacks, greens, and some sparkle!!

Our advent calendar was such a hit this year and I kind of already miss it! Might have to think of a way to incorporate this idea into other countdowns throughout the year!
Our new winter village from Bed Bath & Beyond was one of my favorite additions to our holiday decorations. I’m thinking we’ll leave it up for the month of January too!
Every year we make our own wreaths. This year, was no exception!! Such a fun tradition and a sense of accomplishment!!
Our little family room tree that made us so happy, our real tree was in our front room where we hang all of our sentimental ornaments that we’ve collected over the years, it’s my favorite!!
Charlotte’s cute little tree full of the sweetest little ornaments that she picked out this year!!

I wish I took more photos throughout the house of other areas that we decorated, but honestly the season just got away from me! John and I decided that since this year was going to look different in the sense of traditions & entertaining, that we would truly invest our time in making our house a little extra special this season so we could throughly enjoy it, even if no one else was going to see it, but us!! We hope you enjoyed your Christmas, no matter what it looked like this year. This year has given me so many ideas for next year’s celebrations that I hope we get the opportunity to enjoy!!

  1. Yes! I’m on the hunt for flocked trees like the one next to the ladder and in your daughters room. I love the way you decorated them! Goes perfectly with your decor. Merry Christmas 🙂
